Bickerdike Redevelopment Corp., the nonprofit developer behind The Lucy Gonzalez Parsons Apartments, has taken over the project and has secured a 99-year lease for the CTA-owned land.
The rehabbed terminal building, 2525 N. Kedzie Blvd., is home to City Lit Books and First Midwest Bank. The building made headlines earlier this week after the CTA issued a request for proposals for the site with the goal of building a huge transit-oriented development there.
